Villajoyosa

Villajoyosa or "La Vila" as it is called is a colorful seaside town with about 25 000 residents. It has very few hotels and is not very touristic, so the city has retained its original charm. In particular, the old town, "Casco Antiguo", is a protected part of town, not only in accordance with local rules but it is also on the list of UNESCO 's protected historical districts. Villajoyosa has beautiful sandy beaches, and the town's houses are painted in many different colors.
